Recent reports confirm that Karen Huger, star of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” has been sentenced to two years in prison, with one year suspended, following her fourth DUI conviction. This means she will serve one year behind bars. In addition to her prison term, Huger has been sentenced to five years of supervised probation and fined $2,900. Upon release, she is prohibited from driving for one year and must use an ignition interlock device during her probation.

The sentencing stems from a March 2024 incident where Huger was arrested for driving under the influence after a single-vehicle crash near her home. During the trial, Judge Terrence McGann highlighted Huger’s history of driving violations, noting this was her fourth DUI offense, with previous arrests in 2006, 2008, and 2010. Despite her prior offenses, Huger had not served jail time until now.

Huger’s co-stars have expressed their reactions to the sentencing. Wendy Osefo shared her shock and concern, stating, “I am in shock over Karen’s sentencing. My prayers are with her.” Ashley Darby revealed she “cried like a baby” upon hearing the news and encouraged others to keep Huger in their prayers. Gizelle Bryant also expressed her worries about Huger’s well-being in prison, stating, “I am shook.”

Huger has the option to appeal the ruling within 30 days or request a reconsideration within 90 days. Her legal team has indicated plans to appeal the verdict.

This development has undoubtedly sent ripples through the “Real Housewives” community and its fanbase, highlighting the serious consequences of repeated DUI offenses.
